Straight answers to how we handle your data, manage subscriptions, and keep you in control of fact-checking outcomes.
What happens to the documents I upload?+
Purpose
We process your uploaded text or files solely to run fact-checks and generate outputs.
Storage & deletion
Files live in Supabase (UK) only while the job runs and are deleted after completion. Provider caches or backups may persist briefly and are purged on their schedules.
Role
For Customer Content you remain the Controller and we act as Processor, following your documented instructions.
Training
We do not use Customer Content to train models.
Do you collect my personal data, and who else processes it?+
Account & payments (Controller role)
We collect your name, email, authentication logs, and payment metadata via Stripe. We never receive or store full card numbers or CVC.
Technical data
We log IP address, device/browser info, timestamps, and activity for security and operations.
Sub-processors
- Supabase (UK): database & storage
- Fly.io (London, UK): application compute
- OpenAI: generative AI inference for producing results
- Stripe: payments & fraud prevention
International transfers
When data leaves the UK/EEA (e.g., to Stripe or OpenAI) we rely on SCCs, the UK IDTA, or adequacy decisions as safeguards.
No sale of data
We do not sell personal information.
How do subscriptions, Credits, renewals, and refunds work?+
Plans
Monthly or yearly subscriptions each include Usage Credits that power fact-check jobs and features.
Expiry
- Yearly: credits are typically available for the term and expire 12 months after purchase unless stated otherwise.
- Monthly: credits expire at the end of the billing month.
Auto-renewal
Monthly plans renew month-to-month and yearly plans renew annually unless cancelled before the current term ends.
Payment
Payments run through Stripe and credits (outside free trials) allocate after the invoice is paid.
Refunds
We do not offer refunds as standard (statutory rights remain). Credits are not currency, non-transferable, and non-refundable.
How do you keep data secure—and what about cookies and AI accuracy?+
Security
We use TLS in transit, provider encryption at rest, access controls, environment separation, monitoring, logging, and vendor due diligence. We will notify you about personal-data breaches when required by law.
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies for sign-in, session integrity, and payments (including Stripe anti-fraud). Optional analytics cookies only load with your consent.
AI outputs
AI-generated outputs can contain errors. Treat them as informational, not legal, medical, or financial advice, and keep human review in the loop.
